I never purchased running socks before, so I can't compare them to others. However, I had been running with 2 pairs of regular socks and these socks were more comfortable with adequate padding as the 2 pairs of regular socks.

Since I switched temporarily to asphalt trails and concrete sidewalks, I have tried out the Topo Phantom 4. So far, they are great! Light and my joints appreciate the cushiony soles.
